FILL IN OUR SURVEY
Have you taken part in any of our services? We're near the end of the first year of our Climate Challenge Fund project. If you've engaged with our travel services in any way we would appreciate your response to our short survey, which is essential to enable us to measure the success of our project. You can find the survey here, and all respondents will be entered into a draw to win a weekend's electric bike hire.
Hire An Electric Bike
Electric bikes (e-bikes) are bicycles fitted with an electric motor that provides an 'assist' to the rider making hills and long distance cycling so much easier.
We are delighted to be able to offer low cost electric bike hire in Linlithgow, thanks to the Energy Saving Trust Scotland. We have a fleet of 3 Raleigh Motus bikes - available for hire for just £7.50 for a half day's hire (up to four hours), £15 for a full day's hire; and £30 for a weekend's hire. We picked these specific bikes as they have no crossbar, which makes it easy to get on and off, whatever your age or mobility.
We'll supply you with a helmet, lights, lock, high vis jacket and any bags or baskets you need - from laptop carrying cases to
pannier bags and detachable shopping baskets.
To hire a bike in your size please see here for more information.
Help to Buy An Electric Bike
If you are considering purchasing an e-bike then there is a new interest free loan opportunity available to householders in Scotland through the Energy Saving Trust.
The loan is for up to £6,000 with a repayment period of 4 years and covers the following (per household):
Further information, including details on how to apply, can be found on the Energy Saving Trust website. .
Personalised Travel Planning
Want to find cheaper, healthier and quicker ways to get around Linlithgow (and beyond)? Email us and we can help find you alternative ways to work, college, university, school, or any other location. We'll sort you out with maps, timetables, and anything else you need to get you travelling with ease.
Free Fuel Efficient Driver Training
We are running regular fuel efficient driver training courses throughout the year, to help you save money and fuel every time you get in your car. Our participants typically increase their miles per gallon by, on average, around 15% so there are big savings to be made just by taking this short lesson!
Our last course ran in June 2019, and our next course will be running shortly - email us with your details to go on our waiting list.
Considered Car Sharing?
Even if walking, cycling or public transport isn't an option for you, have you considered sharing your car journey with someone else making the same trip?
A commuter can typically save around £1,000 a year by car-sharing, so if you like to find those travelling in your direction and watch your commuting costs plummet then sign up to Tripshare West Lothian .
Tripshare West Lothian is a great free and easy resource to help you find either a car-share driver, if you're seeking a lift, or a passenger, if you can offer a lift.
