We have 3 electric bikes and an electric van available for community use. If you would be interested in borrowing them contact Pamela at pamela@transitionlinlithgow.org.uk
Electric bikes (e-bikes) are bicycles fitted with an electric motor that provides an 'assist' whilst you are cycling. You still have to pedal but the motor makes it easier to tackle those big hills, like Preston Road or Manse Road, or to take on longer bike rides, such as a jaunt to the Kelpies, with ease.
Our Bikes
We have a fleet of electric bikes allowing us to offer you a 'try-before-you-buy' service, if you're thinking about buying an electric bike, or if you just want to borrow a bike for fun. We have three adult bikes that range in size and are always looking to add more bikes to our fleet.
2 x Raleigh Motus Grand Tour (large - suitable for riders from 5' 7")
1 x Raleigh Motus Grand Tour (small - suitable for riders to 5'7")
We picked these specific bikes as they have no crossbar, which makes it easy to get on and off them, whatever your age or mobility.
We'll supply you with a helmet, lights, lock, and high vis jacket. We also have a range of different panniers and baskets that you can borrow too - from laptop carrying cases to pannier bags and detachable shopping baskets.
Please note, we're not a bike trader/shop - so don't sell bikes or accessories - we have received funding from Energy Saving Trust Scotland and Transport Scotland to be able to deliver low cost electric bike hire in Linlithgow. However, we can always point you in the direction of both e-bike shops and bike shops in the town if you're looking to buy a bike or accessories, and can also point you in the direction of interest free electric bike loans.

The e-bikes are available at any time (as long as they're not already booked out). If you would to hire one of our e-bikes then please contact us us to discuss sizing and requirements and availability.
